IM DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS..........

well winter is almost fully upon us here in old london town.

the weather man today cheerfully told me ...

" london will get to a top of 6`C , but it because of the wind chill factor it probably wont feel that warm."

can you believe that!!???!!!

well i have been go go go go lately with work and tommorow is my first day off, so looking forward to that. we have had a bit of an upheavel at work.

one of the managers partners passed away from what they offically said was a heart attack, but from close sourses i hear it was more like he had had a bit too big of a weekend drinking a bit too much COKE if you catch my drift.....

then the owner of the club made a joke about it, and one of the supervisors who was in actual fact a good friend of the decaesed over heard it an told the club owner that he didnt want to work for "insistive completely C**T" and walked out.

then the next night £100 went missing out of the till upstairs and someone got sacked...

and i have been told that i am first in line for the new supervisor position. which is GREAT.

i will be supervisor of pretty much the biggist bar in london. i mean madonna done a gig there- you dont get much bigger.

the only thing i am worried about is i know that there are a few other people that want the spot, an me getting it after only being there for what, one month, well it is pretty much guarenteed to put a few noses out of joint.

but at the end of the day thats thier problem not mine.

so stuff 'em!!!

hope everthing, as always is well, and everyone is gearing up fro chrissie.

im going to do some christmas shopping tommorow, and hopefully look at anohter house.

COLD..? WELL, YOU DONT COME TO THE U.K FOR THE WEATHER DO YOU?

yes thats right- you dont come to the u.k for the weather.

the paper said yesterday that bookies are tking bets 5:1 that it will snow in london by the weekend. as much as i whinge about the cold i am a bit exicted to see real snow falling. i have seen snow before but just on the ground, not falling down like in the movies and stuff.

some of the guys at work spun out when i told them that, they also spin out when i say oi can only spek english and that is it.

i have started to learn polish. i can say three sentances but i wont repeat them here as they are all quite lewd. hahaha!

i am basically the only "monolinguist" at work. EVERYONE here can speeak a little bit of some ohter language. in fact for most people at work- english is thoer second language. the creation of the EU has meant that everyone from europe can work anywhere- and london seems to be where the most work is. and the most foreingers!

i was a bit lost the other day an d i asked people for directions..... but the by the fifth person i asked i realised they were all from abroad as well!

work at the moment is a bit quiet- were suffering from a madonna hang over i think as everyone has spent thier cash already. i have the next two days off, so i am going to move my stuff over to a friends house, and tommorow i am looking at a house with one of the girls from work.

infact angela, you met this girl when we were walking down old compton street in soho when i was showing you where i worked- the one woth short blonde hair.

anyway, three of us at work are going to get a house. the one we are looking at tommorow will cost us about £80 a week ( dont want to do the $$$$conversion on that as i will cry) it is a two bedroom but we are going to convert the lounge to a bedroom to save the ££££.

aparently you have to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the kitchen though.......
hmmmmmmmmmm.

beggars cant be choosers i suppose and my goal is some where cheap so i can see the rest of europe as well.

well i better go.

i am going to see the n ew harry potter film tommorow. looking forward to that as well.

MA- DON- NA

MA-DON-NA

MA-DON-NA

well i have been a bit lazy with my blog s guys i will admit.

i havent really stopped since the madonna show which was UNFORGETTABLE. i will post you some pictures when i get them emailed to me. ( i was in such a rush to get there i left my camera at work)

speaking of photos....

i accidently left my usb cord at the internet cafe so there will be no more photos untill i get another on the weekend. what a pain in the arse hey?

well- the madonna conert was amazing. we had people sleep out side of the bar to get tickets, and the line went from the front of the bar on old compton street all the way down to Soho square ( thats about 2 1/2 blocks long)

we had a spot reserved for us on the balcony and i stood right next to the spot light projector- basically the best veiw in the house! she came out and did about six songs. my new fave song is now " i love new york" - its a bit dancey, but it built up and up and up until she was down on her hands and knees head bang it into a frenzied cresendo.

it was such an intimate venue really and i will never forget it. she is sooo fit.

anyway, i got a picture off the net to show you how close it all was.

well back to work now.

i am moving in with two girls from work, we were looking at place today. we are going to get a two bedroom place and convert the lounge room in to a bedroom to save on rent.

hope every one os well and look forward to hearing all the news back home.

as always email me at....

CONFESSIONS ON A CLUB DANCEFLOOR.........................

well i dont know about down under but i tell you what, london is gripped with madonna fever. this has to be somewhat what it was like when beatlemania swept the planet.

after a tragic outing with "american life" madonna samples abba's "gimme gimme gimme" and claws her back to the top of the charts.

what is the question i have been asked the most in the last week?

"how can i get tickets to madonna?"
"do you know how i can get tickets to madonna?"
"when are the madonn tickets going on sale?"
"can i get a pass for next staurday?"
"where is jeremy?"
"can you tell me how i can get madonna tickets?"

i think you get the picture.

the owner of the club came up with an idea that he would give away vouchers that entitiled people to buy a wristband ( no tickets will be on sale- you get a wristband that you have to put on there and then to prevent scalping)at 10.30 and everybody else will get a chance to buy tickets at 12.

these wristbands can only be purchased the day of the concert.

to get a voucher you have to know jeremy the club owner.

this has been a great marketing ploy as the club has been packed with people hoping to catch a glimpse of him. of course- they all buy drinks while they wait for him to appear.

i personally think he has done this to get even more people sucking up to him than usual, as he is like everyother nightclub owner- typical slimey fourty year old with beautiful 18 year old hanger oners. i think he imagined being come onto by every model and their best friend- but instead he has been basicaly mobbed everytime he walks down the street.

hahaha.

sucked in.

that'll teach you you!

at the club last night they released a heap of balloons from the ceiling to fall over the crowd and inside some of them were the precious vouchers- not tickets to the show, just a voucher to be IN LINE to buy a ticket!- and the crowd went nuts.

these madonna fans are rabid i tell you! they were screaming like teenage girls who you'd think were all were charlie bucket and they just found the golden ticket to willa wonkers chocalate factory.

i decieded to note down everytime i heard a madonna song yesterday and got to 14. that doesnt include the 7, yes SEVEN times i heard "hung up" in just one day.

its boarding on mass hysteria.

a local paper cheekily wrote that jeremy came up with the most complicated ticketing system ever and the only way to get to see the show was to sleep woth one of the bar boys!

but despite all the bullshit, i will admit it is a bit exciting. its hard not to get a bit swept up in it when it is all anyone is talking about.

madonna this and madonna that.

just to let you all know i did like the new song the first time i heard it but it has somewhat lost its novelty after the 400th listen.

:-)

i will send you all pictures of the show.

not long till x-mas now.

i am thinking about volentering at a homeless shelter or something if i cant get down to israel in time.

ias always, hope everyone is well and i miss you all HEAPS.
espeacially my baby alex.

AMSTERDAMN!!!!

wow. what an amazing city.

i think that the entire world should adopt amsterdamn polices. from the way they view housing ( squatters can live in ANY building that has been unused for over one year. "why should people sleep on the street if there is a perfectly good building just sitting there?"), to theier drug policy- if you want to smoke dope- do it in a cafe. if you grow, sell, or smoke dope on the street- you will be arrestted. if you are going to do it- do it properly and safely. Dont want to breathe in smog? great- ride a bike! if you want to endulge in prostition- dont do it in some sleazy back alley riddled with drugs and filth. do it in a estab;ished house. it just seems to me like these things happen anyway, so why not make them safe?

in the red light district you do get offered other drugs by drug dealers in the street but that is it. no where else in the city. it is very much localised and i think that would make it more managable for the police.

ANYWAY, here are some of the sights that we saw there....

if you look closely at the street signs here you will see that if you turn left, you get to centaal station, and if you turn right, you get to centraal station. me and ang were trying to navigate our way through the city and we would come to a sign and turn left and then gop a few blocks and turn right, and then left and then we would be " hey didnt we just go past that?" it started to really frustrate me in the end but we got there eventually.

DUDE, WHERE MY BIKE?

in the city, EVERYONE is travelling around on bikes. old ladys, teenagers, suits, art students, everyone. they all have pretty crappy old bikes as well. the way of thinking is to get a expensive lock and a crappy bike. th ewhole city is flat and the only hills you really have to ride over are when you have to ride over the canals. this photo is at a train station, where evryone has left their bikes when they boarded on the train. do not ask me how they find which bike is thiers. i have NO IDEA! but somehow it works, so thats great.

i have a heap more photos but i have to run to work so i will post them all later.

love you all and miss you all heaps.

AMSTERDAMN!!!!

well we have spent the day on our hire bikes, and rode round and around the city. it was a really great way to get about here as the raods are made with bike lanes, and everyone is riding here. you will see an old lady riding a bike and then a man in a suit riding, and then a woman with three kids and a cart on her bike!

its pretty insane. i have taken a few photos but cant post them yet as all the internet cafes here dont really have acessable usb ports.

we went for a wander down through the red light district last night and saw all the is too see. its not really that big, but the have everything you need there i guess!

every couple of meters you would have someone say "coke or ectasy?" and you just say "no, no " and keep walking. the have no fear in trying to deal drugs out on the street. you dont see a single police officer there, ever. but as soon as you get pout of the red light district, the police are waiting! i think they have a "keep in in this one little space" policy. the rest of the city seems untouched by any sort of drug problem.

we are going to try and go on a canal cruise tonight, before we fly back to the u.k tommorow.

i will post heaps of photos when i get back.

am already not looking forward to work!

:-(

oh. well its gotta be done!

i will also be looking for a house as soon as i get backl as i am sick of sharing a room with 8 strangers.

hope everyone is well.

UP IN SMOKE.....................................

well were have now arrived in amsterdamn.

it was a bit of a struggle getting to the airport as i was massively hung over this morning!

what a blow out this city is!

me and ang have booked into our hotel and wondered around the city on foot. we are staying right next to the red light district, and have already seeen the sex workers displaying thier wears in the store windows, while the smell of marajiauna seeps out of every single coffee shop.

everything you have heard about this city is true, and then some.

we have already stumbled across a sex muesuem and it was pretty funny and full on. i took some great photo s of ang next to some of the displays but only on the condition that i wouldnt post them on the net.

tommoroow we are going on to hire bikes as every man and his dog gets around on bikes here, and cycle over the city. we saw 20,000 bikes and about 3 cars through the city all day!

i will take some pics of the bike stands its insane. i guess that is why there are all so fit looking here.

we are going to have a coffee and a splif lol.

wish you were here!!!

:-)

am really looking forward to seeing anne franks house tommorow, as i have read the book at school.

will have more t o right about tommorow as i havent had enough time to really let the city soak in to my head. i have had the big dumb grin on my face again as i look around at everything spinning out going "wow. look at that. hey look over there"

hope your all well, and by the sounds of the news, you all avoided a terrorist attack. good work.

i hope you drive to work now hailea. get rob to pay for your car space.

HYDE PARK IN THE MORNING................................................

well me and angela went to maddame tousauds wax museum on wednesday and it was great fun. unfortunatly my camera run out of batteries as soon as we got there, so i cant post any photos but ang has them all in hers.

the wax dummies look so real it was at times unnerving.

they were awesome though.

there were heaps of kids there and we had to rush along so that we were a head of them and didnt have to have them bother us with all there yelling and pushing and carying on.

i got heaps of photos taken with david beckham, (and victoria beckham) brad pitt, angelina jolie, tomcruise, sarah michelle gellar, juila roberts, ( there was no nicole kidman which i thought was wierd)

i wanted to rude poses to some of the dummies but there were heaps of kids around and ang wouldnt let me!

:-)

i got a great picture with prince william though, and i gave princess diana a kiss on the cheek.

today we went for a walk to hyde park and i showed angela kensington palace were prince charles and diana woved when they were first married. (it is also where queen victoria was born as well i think)

there was this mental patient escapee there who looked like a movie zombie that freaked us out as he was running up to people and screaming and looking like a complete NUT.

there are heaps of squirrels in the parks here- they are everywhere. they are really cute and they are scurring around trying to collect nuts and stuff for the winter hordes.

angela was scarred of them but htey dont hurt you. the british consider them vermin, i guess like we would possums. but they are so cute. i want one.

they also have heaps of geese in the park that are HUGE. i protected my family jewels as i walked past them a si have witness too many episodes of funniest home videos to know better than to let your self be unguared around those birds but they were beautifull and totaly harmless.

VERY excited about amsterdam. cannot wait.

i read in the paper today that they are considering bringing in a law to make it so only people from holland can indulge in theier cafes there so they to help them loose the "drug tourisim" tag.

luckily we will be there before that piece of legislation passes through goverment hey!

well i am off to see clare tonight. we are meting at a bar near totten court road and then heading off to a rock bar (she is the tourist guide i dont know where i am going)

Also one quick thing to mention- the club i got to after work called "the Ghetto" (its like BUilders arms Q&A thurdsay nights- london club style) is having the guy from 'Le Tigre' be a resident dj for a while- how cool.

finsihed reading "high fideltiy" which i thought was great. nicole you would get a reall kick out of that book i reckon as would anna. am now starting to read a book called "mysterious skin" which was recently made in to a movie. it is very disturbing and difficult to read- much like that movie "happiness"

anyway.

time for a pint.
